Members of the PCDC will elect PIckens County's one (1) member of the Democratic Party of Georgia (DPG) State Committee on Tuesday, February 28, at 7:00 p.m. This position is up for election every four years, to be conducted in February following the election of Georgia's Governor. A person does not have to be a County Committee member to be elected to the State Committee.

The election will be held in the Pickens Room, Pickens County Administration Building, 1266 East Church Street, Jasper, GA 30143 (entrance at the rear of the building). Only members of the Pickens County Democratic Committee may vote for the State Committee member. Candidates must execute an affidavit required by the Democratic Party of Georgia.

Duties of and requirements for the position of a State Committee member, including the required affidavit, are described in the Bylaws of the Democratic Party of Georgia (pages 22-28), a copy of which is attached. (Both the Charter and the Bylaws of DPG are included in the attachment.)
